I still don't like that song.  >:(
you're everybody's second home
always trying to get me alone
an easy way to lose it all
always there when all else fails
over by the west side rails

WHATever. Jurley, name aside, is a fine song. Catchy, upbeat, fun, has a bitchin' solo, it's awesome.

So, I won right?

I always thought the name Jurley was weird, then my wife named out cat Jurley, now I'm used to it.
Yeah! We'll call it "Freedom"! I like that. But "freedom" rhymes with "weefrom," like "Weefrom the land of rock!" What? It's good!

That's so many kinds of awesome, I don't even know where to begin!

I've always liked "Jurley."  When I first started seeing The Features play, it was one of the songs that really made me take notice.  Part of it, though, was just the intense reaction the song evoked from the crowd.  I'd never seen a local band get a response like that.

If Jurley has many things she likes to do, then why is making pottery one of the few!?!

That shit is catchy as hell, though.

I've always had the same textual problem with it, but I came to appreciate the song as well, which is why I asked.  The fan picked show was good, but it was earlier when everyone was singing along that its potential was shown.  The bootleg from Thunder 94 with Don Sergio helps a lot, too.

"Jurley" was the song I was trading votes for to get played at the all-request show, and even I was kinda...well, after they performed it I was like "That was awesome! I...see why they don't play it ever!"

The first time I heard it was at one of the earlier shows I saw, but this would have been around 2000.  The song was much older still, but everyone broke out and sang along with Roger's echos, and I was just like, "Where did all these people learn this song?"  I think they kind of revived it for the Mahaffey sessions, but it didn't really go any further than that.  I think they know it's really a stupid silly song, but they probably enjoy playing it live as well.
